This spring, I was one of Cicada Magazine's "Artist Allies" and contributed a new short comic and an interview! I grew up reading Cicada so I was thrilled to be able to create a piece for the magazine. The issue was all about "what we own / what we wear" so I asked 8 of my Brooklyn drag brothers and sisters to answer the questions, "What is your most prized possession?"
"I’m interested in stylizing what I see in the world, making everything look beautiful. It may sound superficial, but I think it’s actually kind of political. For weird kids—especially queer kids and folks who want to express gender a bit differently—it’s so common to feel ugly as a result of looking different. In my drawings, I try to show just how beautiful that difference really is."
